Using Vehicles

  • Please remember that a volunteer driver must not be used as a helper/escort they are there to drive nothing more.
  • Escorts. All user groups should provide an escort. Escorts should be seated at the rear of the bus for the overall supervision of passengers and ensure the interior of the vehicle is not damaged.
  • A Log Sheet must be signed and completed (this includes all the vehicle checks) for each journey before starting out. The Log Sheet is also your hiring agreement (this is shown on the back).
  • Buses must be cleaned out after use. Failure to do so will result in a fine of at least £10.00. If groups constantly abuse the buses then the fine will be increased or they may be banned.
  • The vehicle must be returned at the time shown on the Log Sheet. Failure to do so could result in your not being insured. Also, as other groups often have the bus booked directly following your booking then considerable inconvenience may be caused. Your group could have to compensate their costs incurred, plus a fine (e.g. tickets for a show, etc.)
  • Buses must NOT be used for the carriage of goods, bikes, etc.
  • Vehicles should not be taken out of mainland Britain.
